If your arrival plans include flying into the Amelia Earhart Airport in Atchison, Kansas, please contact us so that we may make arrangements for your transportation to your lodging. Transportation will be provided at no cost from the Atchison Amelia Earhart Airport. Flight plan arrival times will be monitored.

The International Forest of Friendship (IFOF) will hold its 42nd anniversary induction ceremony on the fourth weekend in September in Atchison, KS. The 2018 theme will be “Security and Solace Through Flight,” emphasizing military aviators, organizations like Angel Flight, flying doctors, aerial delivery of medicines, etc. The deadline to receive nominations is July 15, 2018. In addition to this year's focus on youth, all those will be welcome who have contributed or are contributing to all facets of aviation and aerospace, as they are every year. We welcome suggestions for other initiatives to highlight!
The Friday evening cocktail party will be held on September 21, 2018 at the Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum. On Saturday morning we will attend the girls fly-in at the AE airport, followed by lunch with an address by our keynote speaker. The induction ceremonies will be at 3:00 at the Forest, followed by opportunities to explore Atchison. In the evening there will be a dinner and a hangar dance at the AE airport. There also will be opportunities to check out construction progress on the AE Airport Museum.

Sep 22nd, morning – Girls fly-in at AE airport. Opportunities to view construction progress at AE Airport Museum
Sep 22nd, approximately noon -- Dedication of statue to Bethany Root
Sep 22nd, 12:30 p.m. – Lunch with presentation by keynote speaker: Lt. Gen Bob Allardice, USAF (ret)
Sep 22, approximately 2:15 p.m. Bus transportation to and from the International Forest of Friendship for the celebration and induction ceremony
Sep 22nd, 3:00 p.m. Induction ceremonies at the Forest
Sep 22nd – Afternoon trolley and visits to Atchison landmarks.
Sep 22nd, 6:00 p.m. Dinner at AE Airport (included with registration). A celebration with music and a cash bar will take place after dinner in the hangar and stay open until midnight. Trolley transport will be available from hotels to the AE airport at 5:30 p.m., returning at 8:00 p.m. Those wishing to go at different times are free to make their own travel arrangements. Other evening meals will be at leisure on Saturday and are not part of the registration.
